Case Study: Toxic Free UC

When Students Talk, Electronics Companies Listen!
Electronics companies say that our, the customers, demand drives the companies to make changes in their products. Students and colleges buy millions of computers, cell phones and MP3 players. Because we, as students, spend so much money, electronics companies care what we think. We can use our enormous purchasing power to change the way electronics companies do business so that workers, communities and our environment are not harmed during electronics manufacturing or disposal.

Ready to Start Your Campaign?
Electronics are used everyday. The electronics industry is a huge contributor to pollution and social injustice around the globe.  But, as students, we shouldn’t underestimate our power to sway large institutions, like our universities and schools, to promote a more sustainable future like, for instance, working with responsible recyclers. We have the tools to organize ourselves and demand greener electronics. The Student Organizing Toolkit, reports, videos, books and sample campaign materials on this website are all great resources to help you get started.

The sustainability of the world is in our hands!
